Writer and translator with contributions published in many Arabic newspapers, and periodicals. Hajar has worked within the London Arab press for 7 years, witnessing the building of the new Iraqi state through her work in the Office of the Vice-President as well as the the Prime Minister's office in Baghdad from 2004-2007. Her Participation in many international conferences and seminars on Muslim issues coupled with her. MSc in Development Management provides an invaluable perspective to contemporary issues.

Hajar joined IFID in 2007 and since then has led IFID’s efforts to establish and develop a network of trainers and young facilitators across the Middle East and North Africa to deliver the training programme " Success In A Changing World". It’s aims of contributing to building the capacities of the younger generation within Muslim communities with regard to their personal, and professional performance as well as their role in the society has been greeted with much interest.

Yasser Astarabadi

Business Development Manager

Yasser manages Finance & Administration and develops partnership plans with potential and new associates to achieve, support and grow awareness for IFID through effective business development planning.

A Business & Finance graduate alongside 7 years of experience in Change Management & Business Development within the Corporate environment has ensured the highest level of business management usually only associated within city firms. Yasser gained his experience through his varied positions in the Banking industry, the BBC, Local Harrow Council and working for the first IT company in Iraq before joining the team. Of his many voluntary projects, Yasser is a Walk for Iraq UK Lead and a member of the Global team that organises sponsored walks and fundraising initiatives for charitable organizations worldwide.

Having began her dreams with Fashion & Textile studies at the prestigious London college of Fashion of a 5 year degree , Rim embarked on a path in her specialism at working in fashion houses as a design & pattern Coordinator. With a diverse cultural heritage rooted from her time in Morocco and Iraq she brings an exciting artistic dimension to IFID's projects.

Ali Mayah

Project Coordinator

Ali has completed his undergraduate degree in Islamic Studies and is currently undergoing a postgraduate Masters degree in the same subject.

Ali’s work as the project coordinator for the ‘Youth Success in Iraq’ project has opened his eyes to the detrimental effects that tyranny, dictatorship, corruption and depression has had on the youth of Iraq. Once in perspective, he found that there is a great need for youth development in Iraq as by means of providing a course which enlightens, empowers and invigorates the Iraq youth to make decisions for themselves and act upon them accordingly.

As well as the Project coordinator role, Ali also has the responsibility of Digital Production at IFID. Since the name of the course is Success in a Changing World, we are acting upon the ‘changing’ aspect by implementing a series of 5 minute video clips which help to outline the course and bring a fresh dimension to Media.

Kawthar Al-Zobeidi

Financial Assistant

With a keen interest in business management from a young age. Kawthar's intrigue in the inner workings of economics and it's impacts on the future social stage makes her an effective member in IFID's financial team. With an eloquent knowledge of three languages, her linguistic skills bring much to the organisation's communication apparatus.

Independence is a cornerstone of her ideals. Soon to be entering into university life, she sees this as the start of her growth as a successful and strongly driven business woman.
